6 Month Software Quality Assurance Internship

ESPA or European Student Placement Agency is a recruitment agency whose goal is to find high quality internships for European students and recent graduates in the UK. We work closely with our host companies to ensure the positions provide the candidates with a great experience, both professional and personal.
REQUIREMENTS: ESPA vacancies are open to all EU passport holders able to travel to the UK for an educational work placement, without the need for visa documents. You have to still be a student or have graduated in the last 12 months. Any student who is unsure of their visa situation should check with their university before applying.
BENEFITS: All ESPA’s services are free for students and alumni. The benefits are:
1) Paid Accommodation.
2) Paid Utility Bills (electricity, gas, water and council tax) + Internet Access
3) Commuter travel to work (accommodation will be found within an acceptable commuting distance from the workplace, if that requires more than a sensible walk then a bus/train ticket will be provided).
This will be sourced and managed on your behalf by ESPA. These benefits have an approximate value of 700€-1000€ per month (depending on location).

Role
The host company is currently looking for a candidate to join their Quality Assurance team as part of their main purpose, developing Electronic Content Management (ECM) and Business Process Management (BPM) tools. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, self-motivated and quick to learn student or recent graduate who is looking for a challenging and rewarding internship in which they can put their knowledge into practice, whilst receiving training and support from the host company.

English should be B2/C1 minimum.
Tasks
Using project management tools, you will be trained and supported to review, evaluate and turn high-level requirements into detailed test cases
Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner, assisting in the investigation and resolution where time permits.
Ensure testing is carried out in a timely, repeatable and effective fashion. Investigate and resolve causes of instability in the automated test execution.
Work with development to design and incorporate entry points and instrumentation in the code for testing frameworks to use.
Determine when components meet acceptable quality criteria and standards and give the go-ahead for release to production.
Coding up test scripts for the Automation framework.
Personal Skills
A genuine interest in Quality Assurance and the development of automated testing.
A good understanding of test methodologies and processes – for web applications.
Knowledge or understanding of creating test scenarios/scripts.
A working knowledge of OS X operating systems.
Essential Skills:
• Estimation, work breakdown and test coverage needs from test requirements.
• Ability to Investigate software defects and identify root cause.
• Good communication skills and great team player.
• Time management skills in order to accomplish deadlines.
• Problem solving skills.
• Some knowledge of Quality Assurance processes
Desirable Skills:
• Familiarity with or awareness of Agile, Prince 2 or an appreciation of project management process.
• Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Knowledge or usage of testing and development of any Web application.
• Awareness of Test Automation development and maintenance for Web applications.
• Knowledge of coding languages, including JavaScript or Python.
• Some knowledge or awareness of any automated testing tool, such as Jenkins.
• Knowledge or awareness of Continuous Integration or Continuous Delivery testing with any applicable tools
