6 Month Programming Developer Internship

ESPA or European Student Placement Agency is a recruitment agency whose goal is to find high quality internships for European students and recent graduates in the UK. We work closely with our host companies to ensure the positions provide the candidates with a great experience, both professional and personal.
REQUIREMENTS: ESPA vacancies are open to all EU passport holders able to travel to the UK for an educational work placement, without the need for visa documents. You have to still be a student or have graduated in the last 12 months. Any student who is unsure of their visa situation should check with their university before applying.
BENEFITS: All ESPA’s services are free for students and alumni. The benefits are:
1) Paid Accommodation.
2) Paid Utility Bills (electricity, gas, water and council tax) + Internet Access
3) Commuter travel to work (accommodation will be found within an acceptable commuting distance from the workplace, if that requires more than a sensible walk then a bus/train ticket will be provided).
This will be sourced and managed on your behalf by ESPA. These benefits have an approximate value of 700€-1000€ per month (depending on location).

The Host Company

They have over 15,000 customers and pride themselves on offering excellent customer service.
Role
The host company is now looking for a programmer to join their engineering team in Camberley, Surrey to help improving their existing services, and to build new ones.
They are looking for a web developer who has experience in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This position would be well suited for a graduate in Computer Science or a related subject. The successful candidate will be working with their friendly engineers to develop a range of online applications. This position offers a great opportunity to develop your skills and expand your knowledge. There may also be the possibility of a permanent job at the end of the internship.

Location
Camberley is an affluent town in Surrey, 50 km southwest of central London. Camberley has a good mix of, independent shops and high street names as well as a purpose built, modern entertainment complex “The Atrium”.
Languages
English should be B2/C1 minimum.
Tasks Developing websites from scratch. Updating and modifying existing websites. Mobile application. Website performance optimization. Automation testing. Understanding business processes. Bug fixing, problem solving. Automating code deployment and server configuration.
Personal Skills
Essential: Degree in Computer Science/Informatics/Software Engineering or similar. Strong PHP, Web Development experience. Experience of using HTML, CSS, MySQL and Java Script / JQuery. Excellent analytical skills, problem solving ability and proactive approach. Good interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills. A strong commitment to meet deadlines and deliver above expectations. Self-motivation and positive attitude as well as excellent attention to detail, passion and enthusiasm to do well. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable: Ansible, Vagrant and other automation tools. Webserver configuration and optimization (Apache, NGINX). Search Engine Optimization. Experience with WordPress development. Experience with OOP. Understanding of MVC Frameworks. Experience using Agile in some form. Mac literate.
