The Role The company seeks to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Automotive / Mechanical Engineering student or recent graduate, who wish to apply their specific skills and expertise in a progressive and challenging environment. The candidate will help to develop this ground-breaking technology innovation within the company’s core product offering through a combination of individual and team based tasks. The role will be based in a newly commissioned business incubator and workshop. The candidate should be open to working in an exciting and engaging open innovation space. The successful candidate will work on challenging assignments and will receive the necessary training and development to achieve a successful and rewarding internship. Moreover, they will be driven to work under tight time scales whilst applying disciplined rigour. Duration and start date 6 months (extendable to 12 months), starting as soon as possible. Location The internship will take place in the incubator start up office near Reading with some time being spent at the global research and development centre, also near Reading (20 min’s train distance from London). Languages Fluent in written and spoken English (C1/ C2). Tasks The specific responsibilities for this role will be:  Mechanical CAD design of components and systems  Modelling and simulation of fluid and heat flows  Apply engineering science to determine the root cause of failures and inform design updates  Implementation of component testing activities to meet OEM specifications Personal Skills Essential:  Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering disciplines (Mechanical / Automotive or related, e.g. Motorsport)  SolidWorks / MATLAB / Simulink / Amesim / FEA  Mechanical design programs and techniques (3D CAD)  Proficiency in internal combustion engine fundamentals Desirable:  Engineering project management  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills  Flexible and open-minded How to apply Please, send an email to apply@espauk.com with the reference code CASCM0803 attaching your CV as a pdf file.
